Who hasn’t felt fear or nervousness before going to the dentist?

Yes, I do, and that even though I’m a dentist. And precisely this fear has helped me to better understand how my patients feel. That’s why, for a few years now at Periodent, we have been pioneers in introducing a preparation of the patient prior to treatment.

This preparation can be purely physical or also include psycho-emotional aspects. Each of us is different and depending on the patient’s needs, their previous experiences at the dentist, or the level of anxiety they have towards a certain treatment, we will suggest one type of preparation or another.

After working for more than 10 years as a surgeon, I have decided to incorporate physical preparation into all treatments that require surgical intervention and in some cases where we are going to perform extractions. I have seen how after relaxation, patients were much calmer and relaxed, with some even being able to enjoy it.

From my experience, physical preparation facilitates the work, shortens times, improves healing, and above all, the post-operative period.

Other advantages are that it decreases the need for anesthesia during interventions as well as the need to prescribe medications prior to any intervention (implants, surgeries, etc.).

In summary, it improves the quality of all our treatments. We strive for human excellence.
